After Mumford & Sons had won the grammy for Album of the Year, I was extremely excited that I was going to get the opertunity to photograph these amazing band live and get to experience their songs live.
The eager crowd flooded into Susquehanna Bank Center, pumped to be able to see Mumford & Sons play the songs they loved so much live. I got a chance to talk to some fans that had seats next to me, and you can just tell how excited they were to be able to see "such a huge band at such a small venue." Now to me Susquehanna is a pretty big venue in the Philadelphia area, having some of the top named acts going through it almost every year, but I could see where this couple was coming from simply by the amount of fans there. Filling the whole venue with cheers and chants as they listened and enjoyed Mumford's opening acts Haim and Ben Howard, both of which we extremely enjoyable performers. As Mumford & Sons took the stage, you could see the happiness on their faces to see so many fans in the sea of the crowd singing along to their songs.
Starting of their show with the title track off their award winning album Babel, and moving into their single that got many people to learn their name "Little Lion Man" They were soon joined by more musicians to create a fuller sound not many bands get a chance to create live. They kept the crowd entertained throughout the night with a mix between their two albums never having their energetic stage prescense faulter. They filled Susuehanna with their music that makes you want to just have a beer (if you're of age) and enjoy the night with some friends, laughing, dancing and just having a good time. It's easy to see why their fanbase continues to grow every day.
Be sure to check them out when they come to a city near you!
